Event Description
Buena Vista Social Club will be screened at Ashland Library Wednesday February 8, at 7 pm. This ever-popular documentary traces the reunion of many old-time Cuban music stars and their shows in Havana, New York and Amsterdam. Ibrahim Ferrer (the "Cuban Nat King Cole") and guitarist Compay Segundo, aged 90 are featured in interviews.
Discussion of US-Cuba relations and the Pastors for Peace Cuba Caravan, due in Ashland this summer, will precede the film. Doors open at 6:45. All are welcome.
