Beginners welcome!
Hula is the traditional dance of story-in-motion from the beautiful islands of Hawai'i. In this ongoing class you will learn 'auana (modern) and kahiko (ancient) hulas as you discover the legends, spirituality and cultural values of the Hawaiian people. Classes are taught in a supportive and encouraging environment, with an emphasis on cultivating aloha.
Ka Pi'o O Ke Anuenue ("the arc of the rainbow") is a hula school that offers classes for women, kids, and men. We hold an annual "Evening of Aloha" recital and perform at regional events including the Festival of Lights and Ashland's 4th of July Parade. Classes are taught by Andrea Luchese, MA, with the guidance and support of Kumu Hula Raylene Ha'alelea Kawaiae'a, from the Big Island.
