Space for Rent at the Ashland Art Center

We have a space on the main floor of the Ashland Art Center located at 357 E Main St.. The space is allocated for artist services and the only thing we are missing is a videography service. It would be nice to see it become some form of media hub, but we are open to people's ideas. You can use this space for public exposure and/or as office space to work from. A key to back door is included for 24/7 access.

Total rent is $150.
The footprint is 9' x 6.5'
The items in the image that are included are the lamps, desk and rug.
The space is surrounded by Rowan Graphic Design (print and graphic design), JP Graphics (graphic, web and Flash design), Live Your Masterpiece (artist representation), and Central Art Supply.

“Circles of Stone” is ready to spread its wings and become a blended classroom! We are opening our program to 3 new students between the ages of 3-6 yrs. Please read the information below and contact us if you are interested in coming to observe one of our school days!!

A Little about “Circles of Stone”
We are a nature based program for children ages 3-6. Using nature as the inspiration/guide, our program will includes a mix of outdoors adventure, free time and teacher led activities designed to create and enhance children’s relationship to the natural world. The main focus of the time and energy is spent playing and learning out beyond the walls of the cabin.

The Space
The program operates out of a 750 sq ft cabin on five acres of farm land out by Emigrant Lake.
This is a sweet space for the kids! It has a large open living room with large windows overlooking the garden/pay area, one bedroom which will be dedicated to doing art, a bathroom, a kitchen for cooking, a very safe fenced in yard and a garden to learn to grow food, flowers. The walls are all barnyard cedar, the floor is saltio tiles and it is heated by wood heat.
Out beyond the fence surrounding the cabin are five acres to explore. During increment weather there is a teepee on the land as well as a small outdoor covered area for gathering, storytelling, crafting and eating.

The Activities
The activities include fires and storytelling in the teepee, nature art, crafting from natural materials, gardening, animal care (chickens), hiking adventures, creek and pond exploration, learning and honoring the rhythm of seasons, keeping track of weather patterns and a tremendous amount of playing!
There will also be indoor time dedicated to cooking, painting/art, and music and circle time.

The Kids
Enrollment is limited to 7 kids between ages 3-6 in order to nurture a strong bond between child/child and child/teacher.
This program was created for the children that need to be in a smaller play groups and/or the children that enjoy a lot of physical outdoor play.

Times * Dates
The program will meet Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for 4 hours from 9-1 a.m.
Our start and end date is September 16th- June 12th with all normal school holidays honored.
An after school program will be offered 2 days a week, Wednesday and Thursday from 1-5 for an additional charge.

The Teacher
We have a wonderful teacher for the children!
Kathryn Casternovia, mother of two, has been a resident of the Rouge Valley for 25 years. She is a highly qualified teacher and mother of two grown children. Kathryn has years of experience holding daily rhythm for children both inside and outside of the classroom including teaching at Waldorf Kindergartens, pre-school play groups and pre-school mentorship programs. She has studied with Margeret Meyercourt, an elder in the Waldorf tradition, taken courses through Rudolf Steiner College and trained at the Light Valley Waldorf School. Kathryn also has extensive training in biodynamic farming, landscape design and permaculture making her the perfect teacher for an outdoor oriented program. Her specialties include telling fairy tales, music, celebrating the festivals and seasons of the year, plant identification and gardening, crafting with natural materials, creating daily rhythms such as circle time, nature walks, grinding grains and making breads, watercolor, crafting and imaginative play.
Kathryn comes highly recommended by four teachers from our valley- Christine Crawley, Nancy and Philip Yates and Christine Leonard.

If you need to jumpstart your web page, you may need a short video thumbnailing all that you do. I do this. I have done videos for Ashland's YMCA, Science Works, Friends of the Animals Shelter and many others.

Food - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Food is any substance, usually composed of carbohydrates, fats, proteins and water, that can be eaten or drunk by an animal, including humans, for nutrition or pleasure. Items considered food may be sourced from plants, animals or other categories such as fungus or fermented products like alcohol. Although many human cultures sought food items through hunting and gathering, today most cultures use farming, ranching, and fishing, with hunting, foraging and other methods of a local nature included but playing a minor role.

Understand Consciousness, Part II: Foods | NaturalNews

As talked about in "Understanding Consciousness" part 1, a large part of our consciousness comes from our thoughts and thought patterns. But a large part of our consciousness also comes from what we put inside our bodies. The foods we eat literally affect our consciousness and probably more than most realize.

The Raw Vegan Demos and Tastings are once again in the Hilltop Pagoda with sweeping vistas of panoramic mountains.

Take GM Corn off the Shelves! - The Petition Site | Care2

The shelves of our grocery stores are filled with genetically-modified (GM) vegetables, also known as Frankenfood. But what's scariest about Frankenfood is not simply that scientists are manipulating DNA, but that they are not testing it before the food is sold to the public to be consumed!
