The "Ashland Resource Center" has invited you and other key people, organizations and businesses in the local community to become members at no cost to you except a little time to learn how to set-up your "MyPage" profile. (Slideshow: Recently Added Photos).

This is an online forum and portal for people to communicate and exchange ideas and build projects locally. This social network has actual face-to-face gatherings in addition to the on-line network. The purpose of the resource center is the sharing of information about activities in our area and keeping a comprehensive inventory of local resources, people, projects, businesses and organizations.

Additionally we run a small news/media organization that emphasizes sustainability and community values featuring user-generated content (e.g., blogs, videos, photos, music, events) selected from the Internet. This local resource center is a model for other communities and we're planning to launch other resource centers regionally and globally.

Our local, regional or global resource center is simple, elegant and easy to use even if you do not have computer skills. So if you're willing to take 30 minutes, learn the "FAQ's & Tutorial", you'll have years of enjoyment connecting with the most dynamic and interesting people on the planet right here in your local community.

• Share your favorite resources, information, photos, music and video with a growing community of friends and associates.
• Submit your local event calendar listing and promote your event absolutely free.
